Ingredients for Knedle Dumplings
For the Dough
- 125 ml of milk
- 70 g of sugar
- 20 g of yeast
- 250 g of wheat flour
- 100 g of butter
- A pinch of salt
- 1 egg
For the Filling

- 10 g of sugar

Instructions
1. Prepare the Yeast Mixture
- Pour half a mug( about 125 ml) of milk into a pot and add 1 tablespoon of sugar.
- Warm the milk gently on the cookstove.
- Crush 20 g of yeast and mix it with the warm milk.
- Add 1 teaspoon of flour to the admixture, stir well, and let it sit in a warm place covered with a cloth.
2. Make the Dough

- Roll the dumpling gently in your hands to ensure a uniform shape.
- Cover the set dumplings with a dry cloth and let them rest for another 20 minutes.
5. Cook the Dumplings
- Prepare a pot with a lid, adding enough water to reach a height of 12 cm.
- Add 30 g of butter, a pinch of salt, and the remaining sugar.
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Place the dumplings in the pot, cover with the lid, and reduce the heat slightly.
- Cook the dumplings gently for 15 minutes.
6. Serve
- Transfer the cooked dumplings to plates.
- Pour sweetened cream or sweet yogurt over them, or use fruit sauce.
- Garnish with slices of fruits like blueberries or strawberries.
- Optionally, pour some fruit juice or prepare a fruit sauce by thickening a fruit compote with potato starch.
